Tree Lighting, Holiday Village and Storytelling with Santa: Things to Do This December 2022 in New Haven

Looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit this season? Here are three things to check out in New Haven this December 2022.

City of New Haven Tree Lighting

Meet us on the New Haven Green this Thursday, Dec. 1 as the City of New Haven kicks off the holiday season with the official city tree lighting ceremony. Featuring entertainment, photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus, there will also be many more “surprises” for the whole family to enjoy.

This event is family friendly, and pet friendly, featuring products from local vendors. Learn more about the City of New Haven’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Holiday Village on New Haven Green

While you’re visiting the New Haven Green for the tree lighting, be sure to check out the Holiday Village, located at 250 Temple Street. Featuring local artisans and live entertainers, New Haven’s Holiday Village is a great place to shop for unique gifts, decorations and more this holiday season. Storytelling and Selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus

Santa and Mrs. Claus are set to visit The Shops at Yale and read stories to children this holiday season from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 10 and 17, as well as on Sundays, December 4, 11, and 18.

Be sure to ask to take a selfie with the North Pole’s favorite couple, too! Afterward, enjoy free snacks. This event is open to the public. Learn more about Storytelling and selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus at The Shops at Yale.
