Valentine’s Day 2023: Shell and Bones, Union League Cafe and More Dinner Date Ideas

Looking for a place to take your date this Valentine’s Day 2023 that’s close to home? Here are three restaurants doing something special for Valentine’s Day in New Haven.

Shell and Bones

Address: 100 S Water St, New Haven

Celebrate the “Five Days of Valentine’s” at Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill this year with a special holiday menu from Friday, Feb. 10 through Tuesday, Feb. 14. In addition to their a la carte menu, choose from entrees like Halibut in peanut broth, or Wagyu Sirloin with baby kale, purple potato puree and Mexican chocolate demi glace.

Fair Haven Oyster Co.

Address: 307 Front St, New Haven

Beginning on Valentine’s day, Fair Haven Oyster Co. will kick off its Chalet Tuesdays event. Offering a prix fixe menu of Alpine inspired food and drink, diners can snuggle up under a warm blanket while dining within the Oyster Company’s outdoor greenhouses.

Union League Cafe

Union League Cafe is offering its own Valentine’s day three-course prix fixe menu, featuring apps like foie gras torchon inspired by a traditional French Nougat with dry cranberry, pistachio, pine nuts and apricot, brioche toast, and main courses like Medaillon De Veau, a domestic veal loin, seared foie gras, celeriac fondant, sautéed Swiss chard, with port wine and truffle sauce, it’s easy to see why so many have loved coming here over the years.
